It was found that the moisture content changed from 2 to 11% by depth from (i) surface zone A (0\u201360 cm), (ii) intermediate zone B (60\u2013220 cm), to (iii) deep zone C (220\u2013340 cm). <\/p>\n<p>The microbial composition in the soil core was dominated by Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes in all studied depth zones. However, community composition varied with soil depth.<br \/>\nIn general, <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Firmicutes exhibited a slightly greater detection frequency in surface zone A than in zone C, while it was not detected in zone B.<br \/>\nWithin Firmicutes, the occurrence of the families Lachnospiraceae and Bacillaceae was limited to zone A, while Oscillospiraceae and Salisediminibacter incerta sedis occurred only in zone C (wetter conditions).<\/li>\n<li>Similarly, the actinobacterial families had different niches, with Sporichthyaceae being only detected in layers of zones B and C, while Illumatobacteraceae were only present in different layers within zone A.<\/li>\n<li>The deepest part of the profile was dominated by Proteobacteria, especially by the families Comamonadaceae (330\u2013340 cm) and Marinobacteraceae (320\u2013330 cm).<\/li>\n<li>The family Sphingomonadaceae of Proteobacteria showed a high abundance in several layers of zone B but a lower abundance in zone C.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remarkably, Cyanobacteria of the class Oxyphotobacteria were detected with low prevalence in various samples across the soil profile.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A group from Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica, Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Norte, Antofagasta, Chile, etc. has <\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"blog-btn\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/en\/microbiome-in-a-deep-hyperarid-core-of-the-atacama-desert\/\" class=\"home-blog-btn\">\u7d9a\u304d\u3092\u8aad\u3080<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[70],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8100","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-nature-en"],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8100","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=8100"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8100\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":8103,"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8100\/revisions\/8103"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8100"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=8100"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=8100"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
