Interestingly, titers against the spike proteins of \u03b2-coronaviruses OC43 and HKU1 increased substantially after vaccination.<\/p>\n<p>RBD and NTD were co-dominant epitopes of the mRNA vaccine-induced antibodies, and the majority of remaining epitopes was mapped to S2. All antibodies were tested for neutralizing activity against the USA-WA1\/2020 strain of SARS-CoV-2. Only a minority of the binding antibodies showed neutralizing activity (see figure below, obtained from three individuals: V1, V5, V6).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mRNA-vaccine-induced-antibodies_SARS-CoV-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mRNA-vaccine-induced-antibodies_SARS-CoV-2-300x255.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"255\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mRNA-vaccine-induced-antibodies_SARS-CoV-2-300x255.png 300w, https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mRNA-vaccine-induced-antibodies_SARS-CoV-2-600x510.png 600w, https:\/\/www.emukk.com\/WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mRNA-vaccine-induced-antibodies_SARS-CoV-2.png 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For sera from the six vaccinated individuals, binding between vaccinee sera and variant RBDs were evaluated.
