(December 1, 2025)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glycosylation plays an important role in determining the quality and efficacy of therapeutic antibody drugs. FDA has developed a custom lectin array (IgG1-mAb-LecChip) using nine carefully selected lectins. The lectins used are designed to selectively bind to common N-glycan epitopes found on therapeutic antibody drugs. This IgG1-mAb-LecChip can directly analyze glycoprotein samples without cleaving glycans, providing a high-throughput platform for rapid and simple comparative glycan profiling. The main purpose of the Mx blog is the introduction of new papers on glycans and lectins, but with the advancement of generative AI, it may no longer be meaningful to make summaries of papers. Of course, papers come with abstracts written by the authors, so that it may be good enough for the visitors. But it is meaningful to read them and convince oneself with a &#8220;I see.&#8221; Also, depending on the reader, what was the point? what was interesting? things like these vary slightly. So, the Mx blog was a pick-up of papers that Mx found interesting and an introduction to readers. Mx would like to ask for your understanding that Mx only read open journals. The FDA has shown that the lectin microarray is useful in evaluating glycosylation in different manufacturing batches or comparing biosimilar and reference goods. This demonstrates its potential to speed up the development of biosimilars. The FDA\u00b4s conclusions significantly impact the understanding of characterization versus comparison. The key issue is maintaining the glycan profile, as found in clinical lots, as a measure of biosimilarity. (May 31, 2024)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">News\uff08New Product Development\uff09<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We will develop a compact, inexpensive, and highly sensitive glycan array that can easily profile the glycan binding specificity of lectins covering a wide range of glycan epitopes. Several types of glycan arrays already exist on the market, but most arrays require a sample volume of several tens of \u03bcg\/mL. In the case of trace amounts of markers or extracts from rare natural products, the sample preparation is difficult to meet the requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our target glycan array can easily profile glycan binding properties even at concentrations at the ng\/mL level. This glycan array is also highly compatible with the world&#8217;s most sensitive evanescent-field fluorescence excitation scanner (GlycoStation), making it possible to obtain highly reliable data, no matter how weak the bond is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>stay tuned!
